These Precious Days. by Ann Patchett
This is a story about a stranger-turned friend, pancreatic cancer, COVID, writing a novel, involving Tom Hanks and Ann’s husband Karl. I have read this two or three times since I first saw it. Every time I do, I take my time reading the 10,000 or so words.

Another article on the same theme, how did we live without our smartphones?? Would Gen Z ever have those experiences, living phone-free?
How has Islamic Orthodoxy Changed over time?
I read this for the first time sometime in 2018 or 2019 and it has stayed with me ever since. It is both an introduction to Shahab Ahmed the person and his work. I Should be able to mute America
A hilarious take from down under about the hegemony of American discourse on twitter and how it has ruined his peace in Australia.
This post is an examination of the oft-repeated claim that rural Americans (or red-necks) have ruined the political landscape of the United States. The author, who lives in a rural part of Michigan, points out the hypocrisy and preconceptions that form the basis of this assertion.
